- Must hold a degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in the road safety design and traffic engineering.
- Must have a minimum of 15 years of experience in transportation engineering and road safety design.
- Must have minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in a road design, road construction, traffic law enforcement or traffic engineering field.
- Must have experience in implementation of traffic crash data systems, crash data analysis and modelling, road safety audits, development of design standards and manuals and guidelines.
- Project delivery management and the use of computing and technology in transportation.
- Holds membership of or working towards membership of a relevant recognized professional Institution.
- Must have done road safety design and audit on at least three large scale roads and infrastructure projects in the gulf and middle east.
- Knowledge of and application of relevant design procedures and standards and good practice.
- Hands- on in developing traffic detour schemes and traffic control plans and road safety improvement schemes.
- Must be aware of developments in best practices and state of the art technologies regarding road safety.
- Must have Evidence of continuous professional development, active participation in training programs, and attendance at Road Safety Congresses and Exhibitions.
- Conversant with Microsoft applications - Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
- Use of applicable computer software packages including Autocad, Keysigns and Keylines.
- Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to co-ordinate tasks, liaise with others within deadlines.
- Ability to write clear, concise reports. o Ability to visualize schemes from plans, from the point of view of ALL road users. o Good attention to detail.
- Ability to understand complex schemes.
- Ability to deal effectively with peers, client representatives and members of the public.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key people both internally and externally.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision on allocated schemes to both time and budget.
