Job Responsibilities:

  • Work as a Subject Matter Expert in the imagery and remote sensing.
  • Analyze data acquired from aircraft, satellites, and ground-based platforms, using statistical analysis and GIS software.
  • Contribute to generating high-quality satellite image product e.g. Land Cover maps, DEMs, DSMs.
  • Responsible for imagery data management, including software packages to enable the best data processing and delivery.
  • Implementation of various workflows for thematic image analysis with a focus on optical data and/or SAR.
  • Monitor quality of remote sensing data collection operations to determine if procedural and equipment changes are necessary.
  • Conduct research into the application or enhancement of remote sensing technology.
  • Evaluate new technologies and methods.
  • Develop automated routines to correct for the presence of image distorting artifacts, such as ground vegetation.
  • Set up or maintain remote sensing data collection systems.

Job Qualifications:-

  • Bachelor’s or Master in Engineering, Computer Science, Science, Mathematics, GIS, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Remote Sensing/GIS Field.
  • Ready to travel in short and long term engagements abroad.
  • Technical experience in the capabilities of commercial providers of remotely sensed data.
  • Knowledge of commercial imagery and remote sensing market.
  • Understanding of GIS and drone technologies.
  • Knowledge of Esri software is a plus.
  • Python knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing on AWS or Azure is a plus.
  • Experience in the installation and testing of new remote sensing hardware or software.
  • Experience in working various satellite data (e.g. Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2, Landsat, VHR).
  • Experience in geospatial data sources including LIDAR and Elevation data sources from satellite, aerial, and ground based systems.
