Khatib & Alami, a leading multinational & multidisciplinary architectural & engineering consulting firm with over 6000 workforce. We are carrying out Maritime project in Ras Al-Khair, Saudi Arabia [ 100 km from Jubail City ] and we are looking to recruit a Sr. Hydrographic Project Engineer role; Previous experience in Marine Works, Infrastructure and housing/building projects is preferred; Saudi nationals with Aramco experience is desirable

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Candidate preferred holding international hydrographic organization (IHO) category "A".
  • Minimum of twelve 12 years' experience four 4 of which shall be as a hydrographer in charge of hydrographic operations and eight 8 as hydrographer in near shore and offshore dredging surveys.
  1. Candidate to be experience and demonstrate proficient ability in the following:
  2. Radio and GPS & DGPS positioning systems.
  3. Side scan sonar equipment and the interpretation of records.
  4. Experience with multi-beam echo sounders.
  5. Familiar with hydrographic data processing & software.
  • Candidates shall demonstrate an overall knowledge of project planning and execution.
  • Candidates must have excellent knowledge of engineering practices, calculation methods, design details, international codes and standards, procedures and specifications.
  • The candidate shall able to Lead, monitoring & supervision contractor survey activities, reviewing of quality submittals and design packages, conducting and reporting field checking result, reviewing reports and drawings, evaluating Geomatics\Survey engineer’s personnel for SA PL, EPC contractor and subcontractor.
  • Candidate shall provide professional advice and guidance in the resolution of complex technical problems.
    • Capable of making decisions and solving problems, analyzing survey information and evaluating results
    • Analyses, process and performs OA/QC and ab le to analyses sea floor investigation, water depth, seafloor and sub-seafloor conditions from drawings data or hydrographic survey tools and equipment.
    • Review specifications, drawings, material submittal and other documents of the projects.
    • Evaluate and responds to technical queries {TQ)


    Qualification, Technical Skills and Competencies Required to Execute this Role.

    Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Geomatics\Surveying Eng. Specialized in Hydrographic .

    Chartered or Professional Engineering certification or equivalent is preferred.

    Skills: In depth knowledge in the supervision consultants, ensuring that quality control procedures.

    Proficiency in spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage.

    Experience Required to Execute this Role:

    Overall Experience: Expats minimum experience required 20 years, Saudi nationals 10+ years of industry experience in the monitor site performance of the contractor and supervision consultants.

    Specific Experience: 5+ years of experience in the engineering in a top tier regional / multinational engineering consultancy firm.

    Experience in the Middle East projects will be an added advantage.

    Desirable: Marine background.
