Job Summary
Mechanical Engineer with 2+ years of experience, preferably in Gulf design projects. The candidate must have strong knowledge in Plumbing (PHE) and Firefighting system design, with hands-on experience in design calculations and modeling. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks is required. The role involves delivering design outputs, conducting peer reviews, and ensuring compliance with QA/QC standards, engineering codes, and authority guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop Plumbing, PHE, and Firefighting systems from concept through detailed design stages.
- Prepare and review design calculations for plumbing and firefighting systems in accordance with applicable standards.
- Develop Revit-based models and drawings for PHE and Firefighting systems.
- Ensure design compliance with national and international codes, standards, and local authority guidelines.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure clash-free and integrated design solutions.
- Use Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks for modeling, detailing, and coordination.
- Deliver assigned discipline scope in line with project objectives, specifications, quality, and schedule.
- Perform peer reviews of design deliverables in compliance with company QA/QC procedures
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required to Execute this Role
- Collect internally available data to support project execution
- Support the development of concept designs, including all required drawings and reports for discussion with clients
- Support the refinement of selected design options into schematic and draft final designs, including all required drawings and reports, as instructed
- Support the coordination with other design specializations (e.g. Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Transportation) to coordinate design requirements across disciplines for design projects of across all design
- stages (conceptual, schematic, detailed), as needed
- Review prepared design deliverables with senior project teams and implement design revisions based on reviews and checking reports, as needed
- Support Senior Engineers with design value engineering activities, as needed
- Support the senior project team with the review and validation of design deliverables with clients and authorities, capturing feedback and obtaining approvals, as needed
- Support the development of tender documents, including specifications, and Bills of Quantities, as needed
- Provide support to Project Managers in developing periodic progress reports, as needed
- Assist Project Managers with implementing quality control policies and procedures on design deliverables and conduct peer review on team members’ deliverables
