Job Summary

As a Senior Project Engineer – PHE & Fire Fighting to lead and support the delivery of complex mechanical design projects, with strong expertise in Plumbing, Fire Fighting and Gas systems. The role involves design management, team coordination, quality control, BIM coordination, client/authority coordination, and ensuring project deliverables are completed within budget and schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of PHE, Fire Fighting and Gas systems across conceptual, schematic and detailed design stages.
  • Develop, review and approve design drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, schedules and BOQs.
  • Plan and allocate resources to meet project requirements, budgets and agreed man-hours.
  • Supervise, guide and review the work of the design team to ensure quality, accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate with Architecture, Structural, Electrical, BIM and other disciplines to resolve design and coordination issues.
  • Conduct detailed design checks, peer reviews and ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes and standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, Project Managers, authorities and other stakeholders for design reviews, approvals and technical clarifications.
  • Support value engineering, tender documentation, quantity take-offs and technical specifications.
  • Review RFIs and provide technical support during the construction/supervision stage.
  • Coordinate with the BIM team to ensure Revit model health, coordination and compliance with K&A BIM procedures.
  • Ensure deliverables, QC documentation, design checklists and submissions are completed and uploaded to BIM 360 within schedule.
  • Monitor project scope, budget, resources and programme, and provide technical input to Project Managers.
  • Identify and manage design risks, changes and coordination issues affecting project delivery.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, training and lessons learned within the team.
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet the required quality, LOD, DIS and project-specific standards.
  • Attend project and coordination meetings and provide technical guidance to the project team.

Required skills and Qualifications Required to Execute this Role

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • 18+ years of relevant experience in MEP consultancy/design, with strong PHE and Fire Fighting experience.
  • Proven experience in Plumbing, Fire Fighting and Gas system design for large-scale building/infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Revit MEP, AutoCAD and BIM coordination.
  • Good understanding of international codes and standards relevant to PHE and Fire Fighting systems.
  • Experience in design checking, team supervision, multidisciplinary coordination and client/authority interaction.
  • Strong technical, analytical, communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables within agreed time, budget and quality requirements.
  • Experience with Middle East projects will be an added advantage.
