Job Summary

Responsible for supporting the design, implementation, integration, testing, maintenance and optimisation of technology systems and digital solutions across the organisation. The role works closely with IT, engineering disciplines, BIM/digital engineering, project controls, project management teams and external technology providers to deliver reliable, secure and efficient solutions. The position contributes to systems integration, application support, automation, cloud technologies, data management, digital engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities (Financial)

• Support cost-effective implementation and optimisation of systems and technology solutions.
• Identify opportunities to reduce operational costs through automation, system integration and process improvement.
• Provide technical input into the evaluation and selection of software, hardware and technology solutions.
• Support vendor evaluations, technical assessments and procurement activities.
• Maximise utilisation and value from existing technology investments.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate duplicate systems, manual processes and inefficient technology practices.

Key Responsibilities (Customer Focus)

• Understand user and project requirements and translate them into practical technology solutions.
• Provide timely technical support to internal users and project teams.
• Investigate and resolve system, application, integration and connectivity issues.
• Maintain a customer-focused approach when delivering systems and technical support.
• Support system demonstrations, user training and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Gather user feedback and recommend improvements to enhance system functionality and user experience.
• Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities (Internal Business Process)

• Support the design, configuration, implementation and maintenance of business and engineering systems.
• Analyse technical and functional requirements and develop appropriate system solutions.
• Support integration between ERP, BIM, GIS, CDE, document management, project controls and other enterprise/project systems.
• Develop and maintain APIs, interfaces, data exchange mechanisms and automated workflows.
• Provide application and technical support and perform root-cause analysis of system issues.
• Monitor system performance, availability and capacity.
• Prepare system specifications, technical documentation, workflows and solution designs.
• Support system upgrades, enhancements, migrations and deployments.
• Prepare test plans, test cases and test scenarios and support system integration testing and UAT.
• Support automation initiatives using scripting, workflows, Power Platform or equivalent technologies.
• Ensure solutions comply with IT governance, cybersecurity, data protection and information security requirements.
• Coordinate with software vendors, consultants and system integrators.
• Support proof-of-concept and pilot projects involving AI, cloud, IoT, digital twins, automation and data analytics.
• Maintain accurate system configuration, technical and operational documentation.

Qualification, Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • Resigstered MMUP Grade A as Computer Engineer - Mandatory
  • Master's degree is desirable.
  • Relevant professional certifications in cloud, networking, cybersecurity, systems administration or application technologies are advantageous.Certifications such as ITIL, Microsoft, Azure, AWS, Cisco or VMware would be beneficial.
  • Computer systems and architecture; systems integration; application and systems administration; APIs and web services; database technologies and SQL; networking fundamentals; cloud platforms such as Azure/AWS/GCP; Microsoft 365; enterprise applications; data management and integration; Power Platform/workflow automation; scripting; BIM/CDE and digital engineering systems; GIS; cybersecurity fundamentals; system monitoring and troubleshooting; virtualisation technologies; AI and emerging technologies.

Overall Experience Required to Execute this Role

10–12 years of relevant professional experience in computer engineering, systems engineering, IT infrastructure, systems integration, application support, digital solutions or a related technology field. Experience in an engineering consultancy, construction, infrastructure or project-based organisation is highly desirable.

Specific Experience Required to Execute this Role

• Proven hands-on experience in systems implementation, integration and technical support.
• Experience with enterprise and project-based applications.
• Practical experience integrating systems using APIs, databases or middleware.
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern IT environments.
• Experience in application troubleshooting, system monitoring and root-cause analysis.
• Experience supporting software implementation, upgrades and migrations.
• Experience with data integration, automation and workflow solutions.
• Experience with BIM, CDE, GIS, ERP or project management systems is advantageous.
• Experience coordinating with software vendors, consultants and system integrators.
• Exposure to AI, IoT, digital twins and data analytics is desirable.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering or infrastructure projects is an advantage.
