Job Summary

The Senior QA/QC Engineer is senior member of the supervision team. He is the subject matter expert and reference point with respect to quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) matters on construction supervision projects. The jobholder reviews contractors’ QA/QC plans at the onset of supervision projects and establishes and ensures the implementation of QA / QC procedures throughout supervision projects duration. He conducts periodic quality inspections on contractors and subcontractors and works closely with Project Managers and contractors on addressing identified quality issues.

Key Responsibilities (Customer Focus)

• Support Project Managers with managing client relations and expectations, as needed
• Support Project Managers in responding to client clarifications on technical and contractual issues, as needed
• Support Associate Project Managers with reviewing, assessing and responding to all claims raised by the contractor regarding scope, schedule and cost changes

Key Responsibilities (Internal Business Process)

• Review the contractor’s QA/QC Plan and agree on any revisions with the contractor prior to commencement of the works
• Conduct periodic quality assurance / quality control inspections on the contractors and subcontractors on site and check compliance to the client’s and K&A’ quality policies, procedures and standards
• Identify quality non-conformance issues, summarize findings in periodic quality audit reports and recommend corrective action plans and reports for addressing identified quality non-conformances on site in coordination with the Project Manager
• Support the supervision team during the hand-over and defects liability period, as needed
• Coordinate with the Regional Quality teams for quality audits on supervision sites, as needed, and implement quality audit action plans, as needed
• Support the Associate Project Manager in developing periodic project progress reports, as needed
• Implement corporate policies and procedures

Qualification, Technical Skills and Competencies

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Chartered Professional Engineering certification or equivalent is preferred
• Understanding of international engineering standards and codes
• Knowledge of construction supervision services
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to details
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage

• 10+ years of experience in a QA/QC function

• 10+ years of experience in a QA/QC function in a contracting company or a construction supervision function
• Experience with QA / QC activities and inspections on contractors on supervision sites
