Job Summary

The CAD Operator provides drafting support in the Department, including producing 2D and 3D drawings, perspectives, visuals, audios, virtual tours leveraging AutoCAD, BIM, Revit and other software and technologies, as required. The jobholder shall stay abreast of the latest trends and developments engineering drafting and share knowledge with team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop telecommunications and ICT drawings including:
    • Fiber optic networks (OSP/ISP)
    • Duct banks, manholes, and underground utility coordination
    • CCTV, structured cabling, and ELV systems layouts
  • Produce 2D and 3D models using Revit and Civil 3D for telecom infrastructure.
  • Run clash detection in 3D models, and solve it in hand with design engineer.
  • Create BIM Revit models, extract views, update families, produce layouts.
  • Coordinate as needed, with ICT engineers and other disciplines (civil, electrical, utilities) to ensure clash-free designs.
  • Generate: Layout drawings, Sections, details, and typical installations, 
  • Ensure all drawings comply with CAD & BIM standards.
  • Update and revise drawings based on design comments
  • Support quantity take-offs and assist in BOQ preparation when required.
  • Maintain proper documentation and drawing registers.

Qualification, Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s in relative field of study.
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in telecom/ICT drafting
  • Proven experience in:
    • Infrastructure / utilities / road projects
    • Telecom networks (fiber, ducting, manholes)
  • Advanced AutoCAD
  • Strong knowledge of Revit (MEP / ICT modeling)
  • Good working experience in Civil 3D (corridors, utilities, profiles)
  •  Familiar with:
    • Fiber routing & duct bank layouts
    • OSP telecom networks
    • ELV /Low Current systems drawings (CCTV, access control,,Data/Tel)
  • Knowledge of:
    • BIM standards (LOD 300/400)
    • Clash detection tools (e.g., Navisworks)
  • Experience working on:
    • Pump stations, utilities, or infrastructure projects
