Job Summary

The Senior Architect leads the architectural design activities of projects of medium complexity in the design center. The jobholder ensures an effective and aesthetic architectural design for projects, which accommodates the requirements of the client, local authorities, architectural standards and codes of practice and the requirements of other disciplines. The Senior Architect develops schematic designs, detailed designs and participates in the preparation of tender documents for design projects. He shall stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in the design field and represent the firm and share his expertise and knowledge with other team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the collection of internally available data to support project execution
• Lead discussions with clients to determine criteria guiding design, including budgets, preferences, etc.
• Coordinate with the concept design teams for concept designs of non-complex projects, as needed
• Refine selected design options into schematic and draft final designs, including all required drawings and reports
• Coordinate with other design specializations (e.g. Structural, Mechanical, Water & Environment) to coordinate design requirements across disciplines for  Building design projects of medium complexity across all design stages (schematic, detailed), as needed
• Review prepared design deliverables with senior project team members and implement design revisions based on reviews and checking reports, as needed
• Closely work with stakeholders for design value engineering for non-complex projects, as needed
• Closely work with Project Managers for the review and validation of design deliverables with clients and authorities, capturing feedback and obtaining approvals, as needed 
• Perform quality review and coordinate work very well, both internally and externally.

Specific Experience Required to Execute this Role

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
• Master’s Degree in Architecture or related field is preferred
• From 6 to 10 years of experience in the same field
• Understanding of international engineering standards and codes 
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• 5+ years of experience in architecture in a top tier regional/multinational engineering consultancy firm
• Proficiency in English & Arabic
