Job Summary
The ICA Engineer is responsible for the design, development, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of instrumentation, control, and automation systems. The role ensures that industrial processes operate safely, reliably, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.

- Support Project Managers with managing client relations and expectations, as needed
- Support Project Managers with responding to client clarifications on technical and contractual issues, as needed
- Support Project Managers with organizing inspections by third parties, as needed
- Ensure client satisfaction with construction supervision services
Key Responsibilities (Internal Business Process)

Design and engineer instrumentation, control, and automation systems for industrial projects.

Develop and review P&IDs, instrument specifications, I/O lists, control philosophies, and functional design specifications.

Select and specify instruments, including pressure, flow, level, temperature, and analytical measurement devices.

Develop and review control system architectures, including PLC, DCS, SCADA, and communication networks.

Prepare instrument data sheets, cable schedules, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings.

Configure and test PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, and associated control systems.

Perform FAT, SAT, loop checking, commissioning, and start-up activities.

Troubleshoot instrumentation, control, and automation system faults.

Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, civil, and other engineering disciplines.

Liaise with suppliers, contractors, clients, and site teams.

Ensure engineering work complies with relevant safety standards, specifications, codes, and regulations.

Participate in risk assessments, HAZOP/LOPA studies, and functional safety activities where required.

Support preventive and corrective maintenance of instrumentation and control systems.

Prepare technical reports, engineering calculations, specifications, and project documentation.

Qualification, Technical Skills and Competencies
- Master / Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Chartered Professional Engineering certification or equivalent is preferred
- Knowledge of construction supervision services
- Understanding of international engineering standards and codes
- Good interpersonal and leadership skills
- Good communication skills

- Strong time management skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic and English
Overall Experience Required to Execute this Role
- Minimum 15 years of experience in a construction / construction supervision function
Specific Experience Required to Execute this Role
- Minimum 10 years of experience in GCC.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in similar projects.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in similar position.
- Experience in instrumentation, process control, industrial automation, or a related engineering environment.
- Knowledge of PLC/DCS/SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols.
- Familiarity with relevant instrumentation and functional-safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, loop diagrams, and control-system documentation.
- Good troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and project-management skills.

Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Schneider Electric, ABB, Honeywell, Emerson, or Yokogawa control systems.Hands-on experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI platforms.Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or other engineering design software.Experience using instrument databases and document management systems.
